New Release:
"Be Left Behind," an illustrated short story by Satou Itsuki based on Takaguchi Satosumi's schoolboy BL manga Lucky-kun:
Mura and Subaru have both passed the entrance exams to university. While Mura sits in the hotel room, Subaru decides to have one last look around Tokyo before they return home. A retelling of that fateful day and its aftermath. Also included is an afterword by the mangaka about the controversial ending. Click on the banner to download.
- This story is closely tied to the first short story in the Volume 2 zip, "Our Vectors," so it's a good idea to reread this before "Be Left Behind." Please note this concludes the series Lucky-kun. Thanks once more to Okaasan for providing levelled raws!
- Wim Lunsing's academic essay, Yaoi Ronsou: Discussing Depictions of Male Homosexuality in Japanese Girls' Comics, Gay Comics and Gay Pornography, makes reference to Lucky-kun and other older manga that helped to establish the BL genre. It includes remarks by Takaguchi Satosumi explaining her desire to create a more realistic kind of BL tale, as well as a gay activist's mixed views about Lucky-kun. Please note this essay has major spoilers for the ending of the series.

Raw or Half-Baked? These English translations are 'half-baked' because they are pieced together from Japanese using dictionaries, grammar guides and kanji guides. An attempt is made to Americanize the spelling because the majority of readers seem more familiar with it. Sad but true.
